Productor y conductor de programas de televisión estadounidense. Produjo The Children's Corner, un programa local de televisión pública (1954–61), y después creó Mister Rogers, un programa similar para la televisión canadiense (1963–64). En 1968 desarrolló este concepto televisivo en Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Conocido por su delicadeza y su afán didáctico, en 1962 fue ordenado ministro presbiteriano. Recurrió a títeres, música y diversos invitados para instruir a sus televidentes sobre diversos temas y emociones. Su programa fue el espacio infantil estadounidense de mayor duración y recibió numerosos honores. En 2002 recibió la Medalla presidencial de la libertad, la más importante condecoración civil que entrega EE.UU.
